Airports are vital for the economic development of cities, countries and regions. They directly contribute to economies by providing services to airlines, transporting both passengers and cargo. The movement of goods and people is also beneficial for governments, consumers and industries. Nevertheless, this sector was severely hit by the COVID-19 outbreak. As with any other major crisis, the pandemic and its economic impact have posed both challenges and opportunities. How are airlines and airports paving the way towards a post-COVID-19 recovery?
