A Cross Border Air Corridor Project for Drones: Niu.link
The Niu.link project, led by Aeropuertos de Cataluña, a public company owned by the Government of Catalonia, plans to create cross-border corridors for drones to transport biomedical material. The aim is to benefit hospitals, health centers, laboratories, and citizens in the Pyrenees in areas affected by depopulation that require advanced solutions for biomedical transport. This project also plans to set up a drone station at Lleida-Alguaire airport to study transport among corridors, with the objective of replicating it in different formats depending on the territory where it is located. This initiative will promote the Pyrenees as a center of European innovation and knowledge in the development of unmanned aerial vehicle technologies and will contribute to the decarbonization of existing mobility services that are currently carried out by road.

This round table will address the technical, regulatory, and logistical challenges of the project, as well as its potential to transform the biomedical transport model in Europe.
