L'Empremta del Drac Experience
by ESTUN & ADDITIVE SPACES
Legend has it that after Saint George’s battle with the dragon, not all of the creature disappeared. Fragments of its tail were scattered across Barcelona, hidden among squares, gardens, and streets, waiting to find a new place to belong.
Inspired by Gaudí’s organic forms and nature’s ability to adapt and evolve, L'Empremta del Drac (The Dragon’s Footprint) imagines these fragments coming back to life through robotics and 3D printing using earth and sustainable materials.
Developed by Additive Spaces in collaboration with ESTUN Automation, each fragment is transformed into a new space for resting, gathering, and connecting with nature, bringing shade, vegetation, and biodiversity to the city.
Because perhaps the dragon never truly disappeared.
Perhaps it is simply waiting for Barcelona to bring it back to life.
